TRAFFIC INDUCTION COURSE

Introduction

The Police Senior Command and Staff College Bwebajja conducted the Traffic Induction Course 001/2018 from 19th – 30th March 2018. The participants were senior officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent Police drawn from the Uganda Police Force (UPF). The course attracted 36 officers drawn across the country of which 06 (six) female and 30 male.

The duration of the course was designed for 2 weeks (12 days).

•Duty of a Police officer/ Driver/ Owner in case of an accident
•Government vehicles and Diplomat vehicles in case of accidents
•Institution of Traffic proceedings
•Driving permits
•Inspection of Motor Vehicles/ Parts of a motor vehicle
•Role of integrated highway command
•Traffic Laws and Regulations

SENIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COURSE

AIM OF THE COURSE

The course is aimed at developing leadership, command and research competences of senior level officers.

 OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

By the end of the programme, participants should be able to:

•Plan and conduct Police operations.

•Develop and apply leadership and management best practices.

•Acquire the ability to apply investigative and intelligence skills.

•Effectively undertake Police staff duties at both operational and strategic levels. 

•Demonstrate knowledge of political consciousness and ideological orientation.

•Observe, promote and protect Human Rights.

•Apply the basic rules and conventions of Staff Writing.

•Understand concepts and applications in the field of peace and conflict and the nexus with governance, security and development in Africa.

•Carryout empirical research to nourish policy formulation.
